The box for the art gallery in Houston is done. I brought in a touch of red to it - which warmed it up a lot. I didn't add much to it in the way of embellishments - just a bunch of vintage buttons. I think I just had too much texture medium on it to do much else to it. I'm not super happy with it but what can you do. Nothing seemed to work. That happens sometimes. On to other things. Which just happens to be MORE severed hand pincushions. I received an order for two from a gal in Canada so I'll be working on those next. I think it's funny that they are so popular. But i won't complain!!!

I think it has turned out great and the vintage buttons really give it a lovely touch.
I am sure it will do well.
The red really POPPED it! I think it came out great! Bet if you go back in a few weeks & look at it objectively, you'll think so, too! Sometimes - especially when we are on a deadline - we over-analyze our work and become critical of it 'cause it feels like a 'task'. This box is very pretty! I'm guessing it will be a hit!
Posted by: Kai at November 13, 2006 1:26 AMIt's super, Judi! I know how you feel about it, though, having just finished my wall pieces for Sherry's class and not being totally satisfied with them either. But I like yours VERY much! I think we just need to do LOTS of these to get comfortable with the process.
I'm anxious to see pictures of your new "hands".
Well, *I* like it. Between you and Kai, the two of you will get me to start using red more often I think...
Still need to get started on my hats... grumblegrumble... next week for sure. Yours look so nice.
