I have to start pushing myself to get some stuff ready for the holiday craft show I'm doing with my friend Shirley at the end of November. I made some mini-magnets yesterday and found a tin lid to display them on this morning. I tried to take a photo but the crystal microbeads looked funny from the flash. I'll have to take a photo of them in natural light. Anyhow - this is the beginning of an ornament that Jacque Uetz writes about in Doll Crafter/Costuming's December issue. First time I've even done a wrapped armature. I've covered the face with cloth since this picture was taken. It is supposed to dry overnight so the face mold adheres to the armature. Grrrr - I hate when I have to wait!!!

Now do you cover the wrapped armature with fabric? That's how I wrap the armatures I sculpt over, but have never used it as an armature for cloth dolls. It would sure beat stuffing a cloth body and would be easier to pose. How many pieces do you intend to finish before your craft show?

Hey! You won't BELIEVE this, but I've actually made LOTS of wrapped armature dolls - back in 2002! It's fun! And I just LOVE Jacque's ornament doll! Her faces are terrific, aren't they? Can't wait to see yours! I know it'll be coooool!
Posted by: kai at October 30, 2006 12:19 PMOh My I want to make this doll. I love Jacque's dolls. I have ordered the Magazine...now I just have to wait for it to arrive. More pictures, please, I am eager to see what you do with this doll.
I just got my copy today but I don't remember seeing that one!. I know the whole "good things come... blah blah blah..." but I hate waiting too. I look forward to seeing what you do with this. What are you using for the face sculpt?
