When will this end?

I've been fighting pneumonia for two weeks now. It's getting old and my butt's getting tired of being plunked in a chair 'resting'. If any of my readers have had this please let me know how to kick it and how long it lasts! Thanks.

Hang in there!

This may sound absurdly easy, but it works. Drink several mugs of hot water a day. Slowly sip the water at the hottest temperature you can stand. I learned this from the Dali Llama. It's like drinking a cup of hot tea without the tea.
I hope you feel better.

Best,

hang in there Judi.... it takes it's sweet time and that is usually a lot longer than two weeks. All you can do is rest...and make sure it doesn't become worse by not resting.
EVen though you probably don't feel like eating try to get some really good nutrition. Maybe somebody will make you some home made soups to sip...that would be great. Your poor body just has to do it's thing. And, even when you think you are better you will feel pretty feeble for weeks to months afterwards. Especially if you have been coughing a lot. Do be careful... and for sure do rest and just wait it out. Don't try to rush things...I know it sucks...but, it must be done ..

hope you begin to feel better soon....

Big hugs,

Vee

It takes about three to four weeks to get the strength back. I had a nasty case of it. Keep warm and drink lots of fluids. I am so glad that I finally found this site again. I love making toys. My neighbors are complaining about the toys that I am making but they will get over it. Blessed be.

So sorry your still not feeling well, I don't have any suggestions but just get your rest and remember to eat stuff that is good for you. Hope your better soon!

I recommend taking echinacea tincture, three times a day. Use a good quality one, such as Bioforce. It will boost your immune system and reduce the symptoms. Get well soon!

Recently I had bronchitis and the doctor said he was going to treat me like I has pneumonia which he suspected I would have if I had not gone to see him when I did. First I had to breath some stuff for about twenty minutes in his office, he gave me a cortisone shot and sent me home with antibiotics for fourteen days, and a puffer, combivent. I was much better in about about ten days. I also slept a lot and used a humidifier all the time. It's nasty stuff but there is light a the end of the tunnel. Pam

Patience. Your body will heal if you give it time and care. Don't rush anything. Just rest, eat well, drink plenty of fluids (hot tea, broth or water is good but stay away from coffee or soda if you can) and be careful. If you push too hard you will tell yourself that you're all better and go back to 'normal life'. Then you could have a relapse and be sicker than before. I learned the hard way that once you have pneumonia it is frighteningly easy to get it again. Be gentle with yourself -- treat yourself as you would a dear friend who finds herself frustratingly ill. Your readers will still be here when you feel better, and so will the lovely dolls.

Hi Judi,
I do hope you are feeling a bit better now. Do rest and take nutritious food. As everyone has advised, please do not rush things, as you do not want a relapse so take it easy.

I walked around with it for over 2 years and didn't know it. Coughing was the norm especially when I laughed. Went to the doc, finelly, and got medicine. it was gone in less then 2 weeks! Stupid me for NOT going in the first place. Now they have a short for it....but I sure ruined my lungs.

I STILL have it, too, Jude! THAT'S why I haven't written. Do you feel as tho' you will eventually cough so hard you turn yourself inside-out? I do. I HATE this. The antibiotics & rest are okay, but it HURTS TO COUGH. Ugh! Feel better! LOVE YOU!

It is very useful for me to know about different type of art dolls.

I may be a bit L8 with this but I've had pnuemonia a few times. The last time I took months to get over catching everything that came near me because of my weakened state. The thing that saved me was buying a juicer. I juiced everything but bananas! {tomato juice needs to be cooked to taste 'right'} I lived on the stuff and I got stronger by the day. I mixed canned tomato juice with stuff that didn't taste great. Carrot/Apple is a favorite of mine to this day. Hope you kicked it!
