What? A post from me? No way!

Yeah, I know .. been a long time since I've written. I'm in the biggest slump I've ever been in - have absolutely no desire to make anything for some reason. I think it's tied in to Doll Street somehow but haven't figured it all out. Anyhow - wanted to show you a mermaid that I bought in a gift shop recently - I love these little chubby chicks. I have another one by the same artist. I would like to take my Stone Cold Troll pattern and adapt it to make one of these. Want to place a bet whether it ever gets done, LOL?

Why should I be the only artist not cureently making anything. I love the fact that your mermaid isn't thin and has a seahorse. i really love seahorses.

I am SO GLAD to see your post! I really miss your posts, Jude! CUTE lil' mermaid! Now that's how a mermaid SHOULD look! I almost wish you hadn't taken over DS because it DOES seem to have stolen your creating time! And I LOVE seeing your art! I know! Take a vacation & let DS run itself! (I guess not, huh? Sigh ...)

I read your post and noticed the "Doll Street" reference. It took a minute or two to put together that you are now running the online classes. I know it is probably an over whelming task, but I just wanted to say that I think you are doing an absolutely wonderful job. I love the look of the website and was thrilled with the quick response to my last sign-up. We probably don't tell people enough (and I tend to be a lurker), but rest assured that your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Thanks so much for your contribution that makes it possible to take such terrific classes without leaving home.

Hey Judi, I have a couple of these mermaids too - all the way down here in Tasmania nearly at the other pole!
I can understand that it is hard to be creative when you have so much energy tied up with your business - you will work a balance out.
I think your collage is coming along really well - just try to relax and enjoy it - there are no wrongs - and what you do not like you can always overpaint (as I have done often!). and yes - will certainly run the new doll class - will talk to you soon - cheers, Linda.

Hey Judi,
Glad to see your still with us. Your little mermaid is adorable. I have your troll pattern. I made it from pink minkee fabric and its been sitting on the "someday I'll finish you shelf" in my sewing room for many months. But There are plently of other unfinished dollies to keep her company! Some day!
I would also like to say that you do a fantastic job with Doll Street. I do, and I'm sure many others appreciate all that you do! So thank you a great big bunch!!!

Judi darling, I know precisely how you feel. I only just now updated as well. I hadn't said a thing since early July. We can be hermits with no creative flow together.

I hate it when I hit these slumps.

But... but... I started knitting! So maybe I can convince you to dye me some awesome yarn! Didn't you say you were sending me a package or something, like, a million years ago?

I know exactly what you mean.. I have gone thru periods like that .. usually it's if I am stressed, depressed, tired.. and sometimes I have come off a creating frenzy and am burned out. I will tell u what helps me.. .I read a novel.. usually by the time I am done with the book I am ready to create again. Hope u find ur artsy mojo soon :-)

I have MISSED you Judi, and I'm so happy to see you posting, no matter what you put up. Do you know I always wanted to ride a seahorse... that is, until I actually saw one in an aquarium and their tiny size just burst my bubble, LOL! Who is the artist??

Boy do I know the feeling! I have just looked at your site for the first time and tis a joy to behold.
nice to see someone other than myself hooked on Mermaids. Though have been a doll maker(among other things) for years made my first Mermaid last year when a freind sent me the entry packet for Gypsyies of the Sea entry to be shown at Houston quilt show. I made a second one from left-overs and she is in the current issue of Art Doll Quarterly.
You creations are a joy to behold, thanks for the eye candy and keep up the good work, JJ
