The Knitting Nazi

New startThat's what we were told my knitting teacher is called by her co-workers. I got kicked out of knitting class on Monday night. To go get new yarn. I had 2 weeks of work on this one piece (first I had the patterns on both sides instead of one side so I had to start over - somehow I got the right and wrong sides switched in the middle of knitting) then this week my teacher decided I was having too hard a time with the pattern because I couldn't see it. Variegated swatch - knitting classThe variegated yarn made it near impossible to see - so she said I had to get new yarn and start over. AAARGH. NOT AGAIN. You have no idea how many times I had already started over due to dumb mistakes. So I went out and bought a solid pastel green yarn and started again this morning. But you can actually see a difference in my knitting now that I've done this piece a million times over. Plus you can see the pattern. I might just learn to knit! HA!

Your instructor doesn't fool around! That's a very serious pattern for a first time knitter! The new yarn definitely shows off the piece much better! Jude, you're doing really well! I think I stuck to garter and stockinette stitching for about the first 6 MONTHS after I learned to knit. You have already jumped right IN to the 'BIG KID' stuff! GOOD JOB!

Judi, it's beautiful! Congratulations!!! Now you can really see that lovely pattern and you'll enjoy this project sooooo much more!

Now you have the knitting bug, too? Did you catch it from Mary O? LOL!

How's Chani's knee doing?

WOW! What a difference in the two pieces! I'm sure you will enjoy knitting the plain colored yarn rather than the varigated yarn. The pattern really shows well in the green color. ^_^

OK, now that I have finished laughing over the "knitting nazi" thing, I have to profess profound admiration for your knitting teacher. This is your FIRST knitting project?? I was *about* to exclaim "are you nuts???!" but then I remembered that this is YOU after all. Seriously, that sweater is not only beautiful, but amazing work from someone who has never knit before. I think I'm about to become jealous! Oh... wait a minute... how's your gauge? (The question most likely to instill murderous thoughts in this knitter's brain!)

That is turning out so nice - aren't you glad you changed colors? Wow. Next you'll be knitting dolls!

Here's a link to the combination knitter that I adore - http://www.modeknit.com/ and her videos - http://www.anniemodesitt.com/clips/ .

Keep knitting, you are really doing amazing!

It's looking great, Judi! And you're such a rebel, getting kicked out of knitting class. *laugh* That is the most hilarious thing I've heard.

Eventually I plan to teach myself the more complicated knitting stuff....but right now I'm stuck to garter and the occasional cable stitch...

It looks good! I can see why they call her that - she should have recomended the solid yarn in the first place. It sure would have saved you alot of time!!!

Wow...you jumped in with both feet...and you are doing great...you go girl.
