I don't normally put puppy pictures on the blog but I can't resist this one ... Zach, the ribbon-eating puppy (who has turned into a fabric eating puppy now), decided laying UNDER the dog bed is better than on top of it!

Now, THIS is a doggy I could fall in love with! He's SOOOOO cute, Judi! What a naughty little character; the ADORABLE kind of naughty. He can come to Houston & eat up my ribbons ANYTIME!

Posted by: Maryellen at September 8, 2005 3:29 PMWatch that ribbon eating thing...My vet gave me hell when I told him that I had pulled(gently!!)on a Christmas ribbon protruding from Smudge's bottom (the ribbon eating cat) He said that ribbon can entwine around their bowels and if you pull it you can cause an obstruction or twisted bowel or just plain painful screaming nasties. He said that the next time it happened I should just cut off the ribbon at the , um, anus and wait for the rest of it to expel naturally. Me, I think there is nothing 'natural' about expelling ribbon but I'm not arguing with him.
I don't know what it is about ribbon that makes animals want to eat it. Pretty, yes but tasty? Mind you, I've never eaten any myself - maybe I'm missing out on something!

Kathy
HI Judi Your puppy is a beauty, I wouldn't mind having him. Please watch him and don't let him eat ribbon or any other un edible stuff, and please don't let your dog eat tinsel off of a christmas tree it can cause a lot of trouble with dogs as well as cats.
