I've been enamored of the monster plushies for a while now. There are some great young indie designers out there and I get a huge kick out of what their imaginations come up with. Yesterday when I was in JoAnn's hitting the Labor Day sale I found this great book called Plush-o-rama - awesomely fun plushies! So I bought it and today I read through it so I remembered how to put these little types of creatures together. It's been a while since I've sewn arms and legs INSIDE the body and then turned everything. I drew these two up today and I'm totally tickled by them. I laugh every time I look at them. Think they will make good toys for the grandbaby??

This is Aunt Edna. She looks a bit sour because, well, she just ate a dill pickle. Shhhhh ...

I can't imagine a child who wouldn't be charmed by them, but... it's too bad they won't get the full blast of the humor behind their stories. A pickle??! (snicker...snort...) Too funny! I have never heard of these before. I will just have to get out more. I tend to avoid Joanne's on sale days however... oh my, yes. I don't know what yours is like, but mine is like a battle zone on a sale day -- go ahead and TRY to get someone to cut your fabric, never mind take your money! -- and I will cheerfully pay full price to stay AWAY on those days, LOL!

These are so fun and the dill pickle story is a riot!! You have given me an idea on what to make with two grandsons that have a had a sleep over, they can handle felt and buttons, maybe?! Your's are just too cute!!
Posted by: kerry at September 3, 2007 2:19 AMLOVE THESE! What fun! And the story behind them is a HOOT! I think if you ever make any to SELL, you should make them in pairs and ADD the stories via tags. Adults will crack up over the stories (your imagination is crazy-great) and kids will especially love the Plushies! And WOOOOHOOOO - your blog FINALLY remembered my info again after MONTHS so I didn't have to type it in! LOL!
