Mutating mermaids multiply

Mermy 6Yeah, yeah, yeah .. it's an awful alliteration. So sue me, ha ha. What’s the latest changes? I made the arms a bit skinnier and I made the face rounder. I like the rounder face but I’m not sure what happened to one of the arms. It’s really wrinkly. It’s stuffed pretty firm too. Maybe she needs long sleeves, ha ha. Isn’t that terrible!

Here’s a group shot – I think I might make one more. I don’t know – they are getting pretty addicting. I was asked if I was going to make this into a pattern. Maybe – we’ll see. I’m kind of afraid to after all the comments over on Doll Street about how some doll maker’s patterns are so unprofessional looking. I was thinking of going to the University and seeing if someone there could turn my hand drawn patterns into something nice looking. I’ve tried using the computer myself but I’m not very good at it. But that’s a worry for another week!

Yes, I like the rounder face, too, but they're all adorable....each has her own expression and personality.

They are all beautiful and it will be a popular pattern if you decide to do one. Just give the wrinkled armed one, one of those long lacey gloves.

i have been reading your blog for some time. I love those mermaids!! Must be because I am pisces! I am doing a course with the Thread Studio presently. When it is finished I would love to make dolls. But where do I start? What would you recommend? I live in West Australia 400ks from Perth. No doll makers in this neck of the woods. I dolike the things you make. Regards from this textile junky!!!

MAKE THE PATTERN! Trust me! Even a die-hard nonsewing person like ME can spot a best seller when she sees one! These are all wonderful!

They are all cute, but I really love the last one the best too. I like the fuller face and the sleeve cap on this one whatever it is you used, adds a good touch.

WOW!
Now all you need is an ocean! They are all quite fetching, tho my fav is the baggy-skin-babe, her face is simply saucy and she is doing that sirene
