Imaginary childhood friends ???

A long time ago I cut out a comic from the newspaper wherein a character made a statement that resounded with me. I changed the statement up a bit and made myself a little plaque. My imaginary childhood friend, according to my mother, was a cat named Patches. I'm pretty sure Patches didn't grow up to be my Muse, lol. I just really liked the idea behind the comic. My friend Judy L. said her imaginary friend's name was Gooeygoff; he wore a pink shirt, purple pants, and green shoes. Did you have an imaginary friend? Tell us about it by leaving a comment!

muse For those interested: The plaque is really small - about 4"x5" - it was a xmas scene I gessoed over and then painted. I printed the saying on tissue paper and then glued it to the painted background. I love this particular model and I use her image a lot - she's my grown up muse! I added the moon and star earring piece because they have been a personal symbol for me for umpteen years. I even actually used ..shhhh .. glitter!

I lived in my imagination a lot as a child, but I don't remember having one particular Friend. The prase on this plaque really speaks to me though -- how would we live without our Muses?? And dang, I envy you your way with paper!

ahhhh .....so that's how folks get around being called eccentric, or weird or just plain nuts... they talk to their "muse" instead of their imaginary friend........

I know I had many imaginary friends as a child (Sssshhhh, sometimes I still do!) but really only remember Cindy. She may have very well been my own version of Cindy Brady because I was the youngest of three sisters and I thought she was the only other girl in the world who would understand.

I wonder what Cindy Brady as Muse would inspire?

My invisible friend was "Josie", now I am old enough to remember Josie and the Pussy Cats but that was not her LOL. My mom tells a story that a friend of my parents was at the house (was he fixing something?) and heard me walking around in the yard talking to someone--he asked who it was. My mom replied that it was my invisible friend..think it thought it was weird but my mom didn't. Even found out that my dad had one--the friend lived under the porch. Guess it runs in the family.

I, too, lived in my imagination a lot. I named all the places in the woods on our property, I played "bank" with seed pods from the garden for money, pretended there were alligators in the living room so I could jump from chair to sofa without touching the floor, and was quite convinced that I was a member of the Mickey Mouse Club. As they marched in and did their role call, I inserted my name between every Mouseketeer. No one single special friend, though. BTW, one of my favorite movies is Drop Dead Fred - love those "imaginary" friends!

Nope no imaginary friend, just whatever dog I owned the time. I love the plaque and glad to see that you have found your muse!

Oh girl this is so cool I just love it.
hope you don't mind but I think I'll use the saying to make one for myself...
