Healing doll

I just found out that a friend of mine, who has become addicted to prescription pain pills due to a botched surgery, has decided that enough is enough and she is going to stop taking them. Which is easier said than done. She is going to go to a detox center for a week to help her both physically and mentally. She mentioned that she will have a lifetime of demons to deal with and when I was laying in bed last night this doll told me she needed to come to life.

This is The Littlest Warrior, her mission to to help my friend battle her demons. She is only about 8". Her 'hair' represents rays of light. She carries a sword of strength, and a shield of courage that represents my friend's heart of gold. She has hearts on her shoulders because as a Mom she carries a lot of weight. She has armor to keep the demons out but only a strip of it so she can let her friends and family in. There are 3 little word charms on her armor; love, believe, and live. My friend loves ocean colors so that is why the doll is kind of blue - the back side is kind of green. I hope she receives strength from this.

What a wonderful gift for your friend! Your friend is lucky to have you in her life. I hope her pain issues have been resolved. Long term chronic pain can be devastasting to one's quality of life. But the pain medication can be so addictive for some.

Your friend is lucky indeed to have a friend like you. What a perfect doll. I am sure it will give her much courage and strength and determination and help in the healing process.

Thanks for the kudos.

Judi, you are a true friend! This doll will certainly help your friend through some trying times and serve as a daily reminder that you care about her. Good work, my friend!

This really touches me because it carries so much significance in a very tiny package. You have not only covered the bases, my friend, you've given your friend something tangible to hold onto when there's no one right there to remind her of her strength. I think she's wonderful. So are YOU.

Wow, what a a wonderful, thoughtful thing to do for your friend. I, like your friend, had to battle the demon of prescription addiction. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but I had virtually NO support from friends or family. They all felt that I had done something TO THEM, by becoming an addict. I am so proud of you for standing by her, because there are MANY, MANY sleepless nights and days where I wished I could simply die, so that I didn't have to face the pain of withdrawal. I will pray for your friend, and for you, that you will be extra-understanding about the things that she might do, that isn't her, but is actually the drug!!
