Happy Halloween!

hallie_weenThree bags of candy and absolutely NO trick or treaters! What's up with that? My husband thinks it's great - more for him! Maybe I should feed it to this demented little plushie (for sale for $30 inc shipping) ... I made two with this color scheme .. one was a commission and I forgot to take a photo of it .. but the face was the same as one of the first ones I ever made. I have no idea where this one came from. Well, actually I do. I had seen a website with fabulous carved paper mache pumpkins and they were stuck in my head when I made this. No resemblance whatsoever though, lol.

I also made 36 domino magnets to take down to The Stash (the art consignment store I have 'stuff' in) but I forgot to take a photo of them too. I just took a photo of these few that I tried embossing on so I can post it at my online classroom. I teach how to make these, along with domino necklaces and altered CD pins, over at Doll Street.

embossed dominos

knittingI've also been knitting lately .. this isn't the best photo because I can't seem to get the color right - the yarn is hand dyed, so soft, and absolutely gorgeous (Mountain Colors, Twizzle). I made two headbands and a set of wristwarmers with one skein. You can't tell but I chose the wristwarmer pattern just so I could teach myself how to knit cables. Would have shown up better if I used a solid color rather than the variegated, but, oh well. I love it! My severed hand pincushion happily models it for me. I am also working on a pair of socks but I keep getting sucked into these books I'm reading and I haven't figured out how to knit and read at the same time.

LOL... I can knit and watch TV, but not knit and read. If you learn the trick you'll have to explain it to me too! The colors in that yarn make me long to touch it!

We didn't get any trick or treaters either, but I only bought 1 bag of candy so the temptation will be short lived -- DH and DD#! have already eaten half of it.

My first post here. I'm so excited. :) I love your blog. I read it all the time. Then I accidentally lost it & found it again. I love the Plushie & I love the dominoes but the hand is my absolute favorite. It's so goth, glamourous & creepy. I adore it.

I bought $150 worth of candy & hardly have any left. Come to my home. The smell of chocolate well never want to make you eat it again.

We love kids & get quite a lot at our home.

LOOOOOVE that Plushie! You are the Plushie Queen! And I don't care how many domino necklaces I make, they pale compared with yours, Jude! Beautiful! WHAT? You can't read & knit at the same time? LOL! Like Judi A., I can watch tv and crochet - even do counted cross-stitch - but read & do either? Naaaaw! Those wrist warmers are great! And I'm trying to figure out how the headband works. Does it just wrap around & button in front or ???? Maybe you will model it? Please?

My solution to the read and work at the same time conundrum is to borrow books on CD from the library! You can "read" and knit or sew or whatever!

Love your plushie he is hilarious and the dominos are gorgeous. The wrist warmer and the head warmer both are lovely. Good to see some of your work after such a long time.

Love the plushie, the dominoes and the handknits, I wish there was a way to knit and read at the same time because I started a knitting project and then started reading a book and the book has won everynight since! It is a thick book, the third in the Erogan series, thing is I usually get sleepy reading so it is taking me extra long!! Well that was long winded post from me!!
