Hand carved stamps

Thought I'd post a photo of the hand carved stamps that I made last weekend. I'm really happy with how most of them came out. Years ago one of the girls in my doll club taught us how to make these. I had all the stuff on hand because, as usual, when I get excited about something I buy, buy, buy. Then I lose interest and the supplies sit for years, because as we all know, as soon as you throw it out you will want or need it!

So these are carved onto a material called Soap Eraser that I got from Dick Blick. The tools I used were a speedball carving tool and an exacto knife. They are kind of primitive but I like it!

I like your stamps, been wanting to try doing this myself. I hope you share what you’ll be doing with them! House images are one of my favorites!
(& I do the same thing, have learned my lesson… if I buy something – I keep it FOREVER. Because if I throw it away or donate it, I need it soon after.)

I wonder …. is there a site somewhere?…and I bet there is..or should be if there isn’t one yet….. where those of us who do that and have all sorts of odds and ends we don’t use any longer, (an, in reality, know we won’t )… but hesitate to toss anything worthwhile …can perhaps get addresses of those who want our stuff and, organize a ‘gift’ send or at the very least a shared postage send…. that could be fun….

Want ads for crafters… hmmmm must be out there somewhere ….
