Gaseous Puppy!

Another post that has nothing to do with art! Oh no - is this a trend? I got a new dog recently - he was my daughter's dog but she decided she didn't like him so I inherited him. His name is Zach, he's a miniature American Eskimo dog, and he is six months old. He's a real sweetie but he's like having a real little boy! Saturday enough snow had melted to expose a tiny little square of grass - guess who found it! He came in the house with one entire side of his little body green. Puppy shampoo doesn't do squat for grass stains! Then today he got himself stuck under the generator while exploring the deep recesses of the garage so now he smells like fuel. A little green gas guy - jeez. Guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow (again!).

Wait until he starts eating the grass and barfing! That's ALWAYS a treat!
I'm taking this information verbatim from Kath Russon's book "Handmade Silk Paper", Search Press, ISBN 085532893-2;
"When reel silk is carded it becomes soft and fluffy, like lustrous cotton wool, and this is termed silk tops. The greater the staple length and shine, the more expensive and prized iss the fibre. Silk tops are sold in long rolled-up 'scarves' known as silk bricks or as long narrow lengths known as silk slivers." She goes on to say that other fibres can be used to make paper in the same way: raw cotton, sisal, raw jute, flax, ramie, cotton wool. I've also heard to women using animal hair (dog, cat) but I would be cautious about that because of allergies.
I have been buying my silk slivers in gorgeous colours from Karen at KDS Fibres - you would have to google the address.
Thank you so much so the compliment on my ATC's. I was really anxious because I'd never done anything like that before. I'd like to try some on silk paper.
Postcard size is 3"X 5" ?

He;s cute. We have a little girl like him right next door. She runs the fence with Bessie and when they get tired she barks. Bessie only barks at flying paper wind leaves never another live threat. But I love her!
