I wanted to make that saran wrap fabric that a couple of my friends have been talking about. So I got out my saran wrap and I THOUGHT I remembered the instructions from Di's blog - but I was obviously mistaken because my plastic didn't fuse. So instead I made this using silk flower petals, fabric snips, and tulle. I fused it down with BoNash powder and then I free motion embroidered it with black. I'll probably use it for postcards. This was fun but I think I better re-read Di's instructions!
Judi, that fabric is so pretty! Your stitching is so clean and neat. I've tried that FME and just don't have the knack for it. I am all thumbs wihen it comes to working with fabric- probably why I have naked dolls that have been waiting over a year for costumes-LOL!
I haven't tried the saran wrap thingie yet. I was hoping it would be easier than actually sewing fabric together-LOL!

I thought perhaps art of this type isn't my medium because I couldn't make it work either... but yours looks pretty darned good for all that! It's so pretty -- how big is it?? I think it deserves to be something more than postcards.

It is lovely! and as Judi says deserves to be something more than postcards. I think it will still look lovely as a sarang

Posted by: Dianne at March 10, 2007 2:33 PMBelieve it or not, I've just subscribed to internet. I've been watching your work rarely over the past few years, whenever I had internet access at the library. SOOOOO thrilled that I can now view your site more often. You inspire me. What a creative spirit you are. You remind me so of my mother.... always trying new things after mastering a new technique. Love you!
