I think this is the first face I've done this year. Or close to it. Seems to be shaping up - I can see some dimension in there. But - boy - I forgot how much I suck at eyelashes, lol. I could totally tear this apart - as in critiquing it - but I won't. I'll be kind to myself for once.
Are you KIDDING? She's GORGEOUS! What a sweet expression she has, and her eyelashes are terrific! Don't MAKE me go up there and put you in a corner for being so self-critical! YOUR DOLL'S FACE IS AWESOME!
Posted by: Kai at November 23, 2008 6:08 PMShe is lovely!! I had to do a few faces recently too after a long break, it was tough and I know they weren't pefect but I gave myself a break and you should too!!
Posted by: Kerry at November 24, 2008 2:10 AMThere is absolutely nothing wrong with her eyelashes...they are great. And, after months of not doing any...we kind of "forget" bits here and there...but... make a few more...and you will see each one gets progressively more detailed.
A friend came by this weekend and we made some little faces on buttons that are only 1 and 1/8 of an inch.... that was fun. I'm going to put the pics on my blog later.... AND....I'm going to find some yarn like yours for hair..... it would be perfect for some little tree angels....
Posted by: Veronica at November 24, 2008 8:30 AMIt is lovely to see your post. Even your blog forgot to how to let me post it has been that long.
You are right you should not tear this face apart. She is lovely. You done good keep going.
Um, what's wrong with her eyelashes?? I am enjoying watching the various incarnations of this pattern come to be. Yours is my favorite so far -- do you think you'll get her finished by Christmas??
Posted by: JudiA at November 24, 2008 2:31 PMJudi- She is wonderful! I always enjoy visiting your blog to see all the fantastic things you have been up to. Thanks for sharing your works of art.
Connie
Judi I love the face. You did a great job!
Posted by: nita at November 24, 2008 7:58 PMI think the face is very good. The features are balanced and symetrical and the colors are good too. Looks like you did good sewing on the seam around the outside of the head since she has no wrinkles near the seam. Good job!
Posted by: Connie at November 25, 2008 11:52 AMShe's cute! I can't wait to see her finished! And you are totally inspiring me to start a doll. I need to "return to my roots" so to speak. We'll see what happens after the holidays, I suppose.
How are you? Not dead and disappeared like me, I hope.
Posted by: Cindibee at November 26, 2008 4:15 AMJudi, she is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I don't think you forgot a thing. You are your own worst critic!
