Fantasy chair - just getting better and better!

I have to admit that I'm loving this chair! Each time I sit down to add more I am so tickled with what's happening to it. My brother said he thinks the chair is deeply weird! He said it's Tim Burton-ish. What a compliment! I face a hard decision now - should I go with the gold colors the class calls for or should I go with what a reader suggested - keep it white. I think it might be really beautiful if it was white with different iridescent colors. I'll have to think about it. I could always try it and then paint over it if I didn't like it!

Work in progress - chair

I really like what is happening here, Judi! And I think it can be VERY striking in white, with lots of glitter and sparkle, and maybe some subtle color in the "water".....but you no doubt have some terrific ideas for it already! LOL!

wellllll it's wonderful...and if it were mine teehee I would mix some color with 1/2 water...1/2 paint like say sage green or a cocoa...then brush the entire piece and wipe off...this will make it look antique...then do the a lisght sponge of metallic or iridescents...the piece is truly awesome....

Wow, Judi! Your chair is awesome! Each update you show us, it just gets better and better!

This chair is going to be awesome!! I am loving everything that you are adding to it. Just do the colours that you want. That is the beauty of the class. Jean wants us to be creative.

This is just plain awe-inspiring! Can't wait to see it's evolution.

Ooooh! I vote for leaving it white! What a cool idea! And, as you said, you can always add color if the white DOESN'T suit you! It's looking really great, Jude!

woooohooo Miss Judi! your chair is lookin sooooooo cool! I love all the texture you have applied thus far. it has personality galore. Reminds me of a throne deep in a rain forest. I look forward to seeing where you go from here. the color? it will tell you that :)

That's the coolest thing about Jean's techniques -- if you don't like it, just paint over it, or add some more. Very freeing. As I look at it, believe it or not, I see it in shades of brown and copper and bronze, kind of forest-y. Tim Burton-ish -- I'll say that's a compliment, even if the people who don't get the "deeply weird" thing don't mean it to be.

Getting more wonderful each time!! There is a beautiful white one on Jeans blog that someone made, maybe that wil give you an idea to leave it white or not.

I LOVE the chair! AND I love the idea of keeping it white - like it was made of ice.
Besides, if you end up changing your mind - you can always paint over it. ;-)
But then again - anything you do is fabulous.

Hi Judy! Congratulations on taking over Doll Street - I think you are the perfect person for the job and I hope you will enjoy doing it.
I love your Fantasy Chair......do you ahve a problem with the smell of the Apoxie? We did a class with the stuff at our doll club and the smell made me sicker than a dog! Someone told me that there are differenct kinds of Apoxie out there and I'm wondering which one you used.
