Busy little bee

So this is what I did this weekend ... jump from project to project! The yarn was dyed at a little workshop that one of my Ravelry friends held at her house .. it's some Tofutsi sock yarn. I'm the only one who only dyed one skein of wool - but then that's probably because I know the dangers of a fabric stash, LOL. I don't need a yarn one too ... yet.

Fuchsia, aqua, and grape - yummy! hank o yarn

Then I made myself a couple of little square bottomed drawstring project bags to hold my knitting in. The light blue/purple bag is made from some fabric I overdyed last summer. I used a mix of two tutorials I found online for that one. The next one is a mix of 3 different tutorials and my own ideas. I like that style best. I'm probably going to have my Ravelry friends over for a bag making day next month sometime. One way to use up my miles and miles of fabric!

Finally I did a little work on the collage ... I can not paint! I put the shadow on the wrong side of the neck and I screwed up the hair with the brush strokes. Luckily I can paint over it all and try again! I also need to do more work to fix the shoulder line - but that's getting better. I think this is going to be one of those long drawn out projects, LOL - or maybe a UFO!

Ohhh, an update! I think you're doing a wonderful job on the canvas! Great job! I would love to dye yarn. Or fabric or something. Looks fun.

If you can resist the allure of a yarn stash, you're better than I am. I keep *trying* to use it up or otherwise get rid of it, but more keeps finding its way in! Sigh... I loooooove yarn...

I see what you mean about the shadows on the collage, but it's nothing you can't cover up with more paint. That's the cool part about acrylics! I have so many layers of paint on mine that you can't even see the underlying collage anymore. I'm going to have to try again I'm afraid.

That is some gorgeous yarn! Very lovely colors. Can't wait to see what you make with it.

And if you ever find you've dyed a little too much yarn, pass some my way. I do some crocheting every now and again. ^.^

Way cool fun projects!! Love the yarn, I would be a yarn junky if I could afford it, I love to look at yarn!!
The bags are neat too and I have been going to make one and haven't gotten around to it yet!!
The canvas is interesting and I'm sure will be will be a fab piece when you finish it(:

Your collage looks good Judi! I've revisited mime a number of times, but I must say it looks better than my Wallart piece I'm doing! Not sue what to do with that one. I keep hoping one of my friends would say."Wow, is that cool!" Then I could give it to them LOL!
.....and your right about yarn...I do has a small stash. Plan on keeping it that way too! :-)

That yarn came out really well! What dyes were you using? I have a ridiculous yarn stash (yarn is my passion) and have never tried dying any. Hmmmm .... The bags? Awesome! And Jude, your collage looks GOOD to ME! I absolutely cannot draw/paint at ALL, so I don't see ANY flaws - just beauty!

Isn't dying stuff fun. I've been dying lots of stuff the past week and still have lots to dye. You want to come and help? Looks like you are having lots of fun.
Love your collage. Can't wait to see it finished. You are doing a great job.
