Bags and Hot Flashes

Okay, hot flashes don't really have anything to do with bags but I'm having one right now and I'm miserable. Working on this laptop isn't helping either. I keep asking my husband why he turned up the heat in the house, LOL. Anyhow- I finished this bag today and it's near impossible to get a good photo of it because it's mainly metallic copper fabric. There are pockets galore - the front has 2, one huge one with a flap to hold your knitting needles or paint brushes- and a small one between the handles. The front of the flap has 3 pockets too. Then there is one long pocket on each side panel - and 5 pockets in total on the back. I learned a lot making this bag and it's going to be my knitting bag. Oh, I didn't tell you? I signed up for a knitting class last week. It's on Monday nights for the next 5 weeks. I have quite the slog to get there - a 45 minute drive - but I think it will be worth it. This was one of my goals for this winter - to take a knitting class. I was running out of time so it's now or never!!!

This is the back of the bag:

This is the front:

This is the front with the flap open - notice the pockets on the flat piece. I discovered that this really needs a piece of velcro on each side - stuff will fall out if you don't keep the bag perfectly straight and upright.

Ooh, what a great bag! I need a bag for everything, a place for everything. And now you make me want to make another bag.

Very clever, Judi! I especially like the flap/pocket to store your needles! I have several "knitting" bags, but none that I really like! I should make one.....huh?? Yours is very beautiful....love the copper fabric.

cool beans, I love the tote. Did you put a loop in to run your yarn through so it don't pull the whole skein out when you working and traveling? Works slick.

That is a gorgeous bag!! Love it!! I know about the flashes, I have them too.

OMG! I love that bag! And it's copper color? Right up my alley, dontcha' know?

Oh, those pesky hot flashes. I remember when I first started having them (many years ago) I would stand outside on the porch in the middle of the night during the winter wearing nothing but my nightgown when the temp was zero or colder. Hang in there- it eventually gets better...

REALLY great bag! You'll pick up knitting in no time! By the way - make SURE you buy one thing they may or may not tell you to buy. A couple of RUBBER TIPS to put on your needles when you working on a project & need to stop. They will keep your stitches from accidentally sliding off!

This is a wonderful bag! I love the colors. It is gorgeous and totally practical. Did you design it or follow a pattern?

What a FABULOUS bag! I'm a sucker for anything with lots of compartments (maybe they make me feel more organized?)

I haven't had the dubious pleasure of hot flashes yet -- they sound awful.

What a great bag for knitting. Good luck on your class. I agree with Sherry about the little rubber tips for the needles. Don't ya just love those hot flashes. Well you have it made, you can just go outside, the rest of us sufferers have to climb in the freezer. LOL

Oh how I feel for you. 24x7 I was always either sweaty hot or freezing cold. After three years of almost no decent sleep and I finally resorted to drugs. Life is good! :-)
