I was cleaning off the top of a bookcase and I found this painting I had made for an exercise in transparency 4 years ago. Instead of throwing it out I figured I'd cut it up into ATCs. A couple of these can stand on their own, the rest will make great backgrounds. I wonder if you bought paintings at garage sales if you could cut them up and use them this way, LOL. Well, of course you CAN, but would you???

Hi Judi what a great idea, I just got some atc transparencies, and can't wait to try some experimenting on them. Belinda

Posted by: shashi at February 25, 2008 3:42 AMhey good idea.... will be looking forward to a batch of ATCs now.....
It would be kind of tough to cut up a painting if you thought enough of it to buy it.... mmmm... yeah...don't know if I could. But.... you could always search out some that you don't really care for and buy them for the cutting board.
WHY didn't I think of that?? I have some old paintings lying around too. You come up with the best ideas.

Posted by: Linda Fleming at February 25, 2008 9:09 AMBrilliant! They'll make very colorful & diversified ATC backgrounds. Hmmm ... now what can I find to cut up ...?
Posted by: Kai at February 25, 2008 9:22 AMDitto on the great idea, your brilliant and clever comments!! LOL!!
Posted by: kerry at February 25, 2008 2:36 PMVery wonderful idea, but I would have difficulty cutting up a painting too, especially if I spent money on it. I buy old books to alter and I usually don't spend more than $2 each, yet I still can't bring myself to tear them up half the time!
I need to get back into ATCs... well, I don't NEED to... I want to. But when will I ever have time?
Posted by: Cindi at February 26, 2008 12:45 AMThat's a great idea. I've got some pieces hanging about that I don't like anymore. It's time for them to meet the utility knife. Mwah ha ha ha ha.
