I went to a friend's house yesterday for an art day - we started working on art aprons using the instructions in Cloth Paper Scissors. This started out as bib overalls but the back of the overalls is now sewn to the front to create more pockets. I wanted to preserve the front top pocket so I put the back a bit lower than it should have been. Now the back pockets are down by my knees, LOL. I will have to do a bit more redesigning before I start painting it. I put the black and white border on it but that's it. It was a fun day - I need more play dates!

You certainly will have enough pockets!! Looks like a fun project!!

Posted by: shashi at April 21, 2008 5:34 AMWhat great design! I've ruined so many of my clothes while playing in the studio, I really should wear an apron.
I keep expecting to see a new doll when I visit your blog, but each time I see no new dolls. Are you getting out of doll making or just taking a break?
Posted by: Linda Fleming at April 21, 2008 7:46 AMLinda, I don't know why I haven't made a doll yet this year - it's very odd. I have one in the works but I keep getting sidetracked by other things. I live dolls every day since I run Doll Street so maybe my doll fix is getting fulfilled that way.
Posted by: Judi at April 21, 2008 12:22 PMHi Judi, loving the apron, I so need something cool to wear when I'm creating. I'm ruining all my clothes lol. Belinda
Posted by: Belinda at April 22, 2008 12:55 AMCool apron & LOVE all the pockets! I keep MEANING to wear one of the who KNOWS how many aprons I own, but all of my wear-around-the-house clothes are already so 'decorated' with gesso, paint, glitter, ink, etc., I don't guess it much matters at this point! LOL!
Posted by: Kai at April 22, 2008 2:28 AMLOL... I started one of those too. Mine is blue demin though, and I haven't had a chance to do much more than the basic construction yet. Do you have a design all planned out or are you letting it grow as it goes? Your day sounds like SO much fun -- I envy you a playmate!!
Posted by: JudiA at April 24, 2008 8:08 PMHi,
A friend told me to go to this site and get a surprise. So I did and I'm so excited you are 'building' an apron. It's my design and I'm the person featured in Cloth, Paper, Scissors. I wasn't sure anyone was going to make the apron and now I'm beside myself. I hope you have as much fun with it as I did.
Your friend in art,
Laura
Doing one for my mother using the same idea. Have it together and it is on the kitchen table waiting to be decorated.
